I know you trust him. I know you trust her. I know and I understand that you are ‘engaged’. In the sense that you both intend to marry one another and that your families are aware of it. I understand that you both love each other and are each other’s reminders. I’m also aware of how happy he makes you and how happy you make me by being so happy in the presence of his happyness. I know you trust him. I know he’s trustworthy and I know you trust yourself. I know you’ve been alone before and that nothing happened, except you just talked. I know he wouldn’t do anything to hurt you or jeopardize your honour, nor would you to him.
But you are aware that shaytaan is the third, or did you forget? You are aware that the Angels are recording your deeds, or did you forget? You are aware the Allaah is watching over you, or did you forget?
You are aware that Shaytaan will do whatever it is in his power to place small itty bitty little thoughts in his mind or in your mind. You are aware that shaytaan will make you justify that small act. ‘you’ve been alone before.’ ‘let’s just hold hands’ ’ let’s just sit close to each other’ ‘let’s just say lovey dovey things’. I’m sure you underestimate the power of shatyaan and his goal to divert you from the righteous path. & I’m sure you underestimate the power of your own animalistic nafs.
Suratul A`raaf:
16. (Iblis) said: “Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path.
17. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).”
How many have said, we’ll just talk? We’ll just hold hands, we’ll just sit there? How many have said that only to feel shame after the crime they committed that only Allaah is aware of while shaytaan laughs at his work? How many have ended up going to Abortion clinics to hide their shame? How many times has this begun…when it started with “we trust each other. He wouldn’t do that.” Or “She wouldn’t do that” Or “we would never succumb to such things.”
You can’t even guarantee yourself another hour of life, but you’re guaranteeing that your body will not naturally respond to the one you love?
If you love each other, respect each other enough to do the halaal through halaal means.
And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allah that you may succeed. [2:189]
Never be alone with the opposite sex, especially if you both have feelings for one another.
